1st run
Time to crank things up a bit with a UK first vinyl pressing of this. With the benefit of hindsight, Tin Machine were a lot better than many of us thought at the time. Sure, the cover of Lennon’s “Working Class Hero” is still embarrassing, but generally Bowie and co. rock on this. Certainly better than any of his post-Scary Monsters 1980s albums.
Thanks - I can’t figure out why I hear the ‘pre-echo’ unless it’s in the digital file already.
I can understand with analogue media, maybe it can get through from a master tape assuming it’s analogue.
After The Police, time for some real reggae
Burning Spear - Garvey’s Ghost, I seem to play this dub version more these days, than the original Marcus Garvey album.
Great dynamics on this classic soundtrack recording.
Classic.
Love that Roon decided to censor the album art given the language that isn’t censored in many songs elsewhere. It’s a drawing. Really?
Quite good music despite the “pornography”
Crikey! This is a bit good, and I don’t even care much for the blues.
In my Qobuz queue, Gazza.
Eddi Reader, self titled from '94, such a beautiful voice!
London Grammar is another band I’ve never heard of (although I’ve seen them posted here a lot), may have to check them out.
Hannah - London gal - has got a great voice. That’s it! Third album on the way… Have a listen, Pete and let me know what you think.
Nina Simone - Silk & Soul.
Now playing…
Eberhard Weber - Chorus
Eberhard Weber (Bass, Synthesizer), Jan Garbarek (Soprano Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone) and Ralf-R. Hübner (Drums).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… a mention from @narcom above had me place this in the queue and now taking out for a spin and this trio is sounding outstanding!
