Sublime playing, full-fat SQ. Trumpet duels with tenor sax, whilst piano, drums and bass offer salutary interjections before things over heat.
Almost midnight of a lovely Christmas Day, sat relaxing with headphones on, 12 yr old malt and some tunes before bed. Hope you all have a had a merry Christmas.
I additionally recommend Pictured Within from his later years…
There are little gems on so many of the abums, a few reccomendations…Today has Kiss me Baby. On Friends…Meant For You. 20 20…I Went to Sleep, Our Prayer and Cabinessence…both salvaged from the abandoned Smile project. Sunflower has the beautiful song Forever a Dennis Wilson song, and the fabulous Brian Wilson song Add Some Music to Your Day. L.A. ( Light Album ) has Full Sail by Carl Wilson, and Love Surrounds Me by Dennis Wilson
Another fine introduction might be Brian Wilson Live at the Roxy from 1999 when BW emerged from being a recluse and the effects of mental illness to performing live with an impeccable band. Try also the biopic Love and Mercy which will give you an insight into the man and his emotions.
These are just a few…there is so much more.
Happy Listening.

Last one of the evening. . .
Forces Of Victory - Linton Kwesi Johnson (1979).
Lyrics (declaimed in semi-spoken word form) are sadly still apposite.
Dub flecked music is joyously produced by LKJ and Dennis Bovell.
I totally agree Haim, Mullova often seems to find the perfect balance between virtuosity and emotion.
Merry Christmas!

Hope you guys have managed yesterday and enjoying a quiet Boxing Day, early evening here.
First for the day Tom Petty Highway Companion
After a few recommendations, giving The Beach Boys another crack this time Surfs Up. Loving the first track hopefully the rest is as good.
Yes, I was lucky enough to see her many times in London, great technique used to explore the heart of the music.
Squeeze, Greatest Hits, cd rip
Great pop music with excellent lyrics ![]()
The Indians send signals
From the rocks above the pass
The cowboys take positions
In the bushes and the grass
The squaw is with the Corporal
She is tied against the tree
She doesn’t mind the language
It’s the beating she don’t need
