Mary Black - The Collection - Bright Blue Rose

Reflecting on my mother’s life. She died on Christmas Eve at the setting of sun aged 102. Much loved and missed, always in our minds. Listen to the words.

Their eponymous debut album which takes me back to a great summer of great music and lots of west coast sounds getting played by friends and self.

I know it’s only Tuesday, but spinning the ‘Saturday Night Fever’ soundtrack before heading out, suspect after a few bubbles may lead to some appropriate’ Dad’ dancing later !

Tubby Hayes Quartet - Grits, Beans and Greens

Currently playing disc two from the two disc version of this included in the Fontana box set. This album (in any version or format) is my best discovery of 2019. Some beautiful post-bop jazz.

Well, I might as well show some solidarity and this is their 50th anniversary rendering.

David Darling - Cello

Streaming on TIDAL… chilling at the work desk this morning with David and his ‘Cello’ while sipping a cup of coffee while closing out the decade. A wonderful and beautiful album!
