Gomez In Our Gun.
Doctor John’s Gumbo
Bjork. Big time sensuality. Need a heavy beat to get me going this morning. Same track, 7 remixes. Wonderful. I remember the video as being good as well.
Freshly exhumed from the Blue Note vaults, a previously unreleased Art Blakey album – out in August:
Rather nice John, playing myself now…had not heard this Bump band album, thanks.
This looks very interesting, Kev. How are you able to listen to it before release?
I work for a music magazine @Clive so have got an advance copy*.
*Which I am not allowed to share – sorry! But it is a very good album, well worth buying IMO. Very nice sound too.
I shall look forward to that then. Thanks for the heads up.
Is it a Tone Poet release or can’t you tell us that ?
No it’s not a Tone Poet @Alanm1 - the most recent Tone Poet was the Elington/Mingus/Roach “Money Jungle” LP, which came out in April. More are planned for 2020, but the lockdown has caused all manner of production delays…
Sonny Rollins - Saxophone Colossus
I was going to play Rollins’s Village Vanguard albums, but was sidestepped and chose this instead. It’s probably his most well known album, even if I don’t agree that it’s his best. Some fine playing all round and a spectacular recording, which is 64 years old this month!
Thanks Kev, I shall buy it anyway but just curious.
