What are you listening to in 2020 and WHY might anyone be interested?

Moonchild - Little Ghost - 2019 Tru Thoughts / EU CD / TRUCD383 / Hand written Thank You note.

Easily my favorite vocal album of the last 6 months, with its electronic production and yet still a real soul. With chilled horns, delicate percussion and cool keyboards, Amber Navran’s voice gently delivers intelligent lyrics that can linger in your thoughts for many a day.

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black, followed by Frank

The phenomenon that was Amy Winehouse passed me by. I wasn’t even aware that I’d ever heard any of her songs, although when I heard Rehab and Back to Black I realised I’d heard them in passing. That changed last evening when BBC4 repeated a couple of sets she had performed at Glastonbury in 2007, which I enjoyed. Catching up with these two today on Qobuz. I feel I really ought to buy her albums on vinyl.

Peter Gabriel. Up. At 66 mins long and with all but one track over 6 mins this is an album with a lot going on. Featuring The blind boys of Alabama, Black dyke band and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. This is an album that rewards repeated listening.
