Todd Rungren - Adventures In Utopia (Tidal MQA)
Another of those long lost albums that went AWOL from my collection back in the day.
Someone posted it here recently, I went “Ah! Yes, I used to have that LP!”
So added to my Tidal collection…
40 odd years later just re visiting it, have to say I’m in no rush to get it back!
Now deleted from my Tidal collection!
Perhaps it hasnt aged well, or maybe it’s me…
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust, High Res download from HD Tracks. Been playing Bowie on vinyl mostly of late, but good to revisit this HD download. Also means I don’t get paint on the vinyl versions!
The Specials - Protest Songs 1924 - 2012 (Tidal MQA
Caught Horace Panter (who’s book Ska’d For Life incidentally is well worth reading @dave-marshall ), Lynval Golding and Terry Hall on CH4 News last night prompting this first listen of new album
- ‘Freedom Highway’ (The Staple Singers)
- ‘Everybody Knows’ (Leonard Cohen)
- ‘I Don’t Mind Failing In This World’ (Malvina Reynolds)
- ‘Black, Brown And White’ (Big Bill Broonzy)
- ‘Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Us Around’ (traditional)
- ‘F_ck All The Perfect People’ (Chip Taylor & The New Ukrainians)
- ‘My Next Door Neighbour’
- ‘Trouble Every Day’ (Frank Zappa & Mothers of Invention)
- ‘Listening Wind’ (Talking Heads)

If you’re expecting high energy Ska/Reggae you could be in for a surprise.
Q+A with Horace Panter from Record Collector mag…
The “deluxe” CD and stream rather oddly pointlessly tags on two Live 2019 tracks of the traditional sounding Specials that, as good as they may be, to me seem totally out of place against the backdrop of this very different new album
Explosions In The Sky - Big Bend
CD|2021
Post-rock group from Austin, TX. They have done several soundtracks, including this one for PBS. First listen, has a nice mellow vibe.
Been enjoying the Carnegie Hall double vinyl set so much decided to settle in to a Youngathon starting with my all time favourite On The Beach - corruscating lyrics and raw on the edge playing. On remarkably good nick Reprise vinyl.
