Kieran Halpin - Mission Street - Qobuz 16/44
Flossie performed a song of his on the previous album I played, and a cursory Google showed me that he died last year. A very fine folk singer-songwriter, this is an excellent album of well written meaningful songs, beautifully sung and well performed. RIP Kieran.
I must have seen him half a dozen times or more between festivals and club gigs, I was surprised to find I had none of his albums either on LP or the NAS, I’ll remedy that after Christmas.

This album is available on Qobuz

The Mekons - Journey to the End of the Night - WAV CD rip
The great anarcho-post-punk collective in reflective mood. English folk-rock with dub and pop rhythms, thoughtful and dark lyrics, a sense of melancholy, their usual social commitment, great musicianship and sublime singing.

OK it’s CringeFest time
Just been playing Dreamboats and Petticoats: Three
I never bought it honest - someone was throwing it out.
Some good Holly, Orbison, Cochran stuff but …
If you have a CD rip check track32 “Dance On” - mine was mis-attributed.

One wag on Amazon gave it 5 stars and said “Wasn’t for me but for my mum and saved me the embarrassment of going in a shop”.
How can I now tell the kids and grandkids their music sounds crap !!!

The Mekons - The Curse of the Mekons - 1st press German vinyl
More Mekons, folk, country, rock&roll, punk fused in a set of socially committed songs, tender ballads, pounding rockers, all performed and sung superbly.
