Enjoying some Kinks. Great collection
Spot on Dread. You know me well enough to realise I recognise the contributions of all members of the Wailers.
I cast the line to see who would take the bait . Childish really.

Manu Katché - Manu Katché
Manu Katché (Drums), Nils Petter Molvaer (Trumpet, Loops), Tore Brunborg (Tenor Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone) and Jim Watson (Piano, Hammond B3 Organ).
Streaming on Qobuz (88.2/24)… a mention by @David above reminded me I had not given Manu a spin recently and it sounded like a good idea. So choose this 2012 release and the opening track ‘Running After Years’ is sounding mighty sweet!
I thought you were baiting me and I couldnt resist biting on the hook😉
The original Wailing Wailers Studio One LP. In the early sixties around '64 when the Wailers formed at Studio One they were a more fluid line up as producer Coxsone Dodd experimented with different vocalists harmony arrangements.
This original album had Junior Braithwaite It Hurts To Be Alone & Beverley Kelso Lonesome Feeling, their not pictured but credited on the sleeve notes. Another of The Wailers family that was never formally credited is Constantine “Vision” Walker.
Bunny Wailer later in the Eighties recreated an imagined early Wailers album featuring the original members utilising old session and demo tapes dubbed over modern freshly recorded rhythm tracks.
The Never Ending Wailers it’s a great album, and features overlooked original members Constantine Walker, Junior Braithwaite and introduces Peter’s son Andrew Tosh, well worth seeking out
And it worked…you got me at it!
Another great release from LDR on my 4th listen since Friday.
Time for some Dead or some Jazz. Answer - have both. So for Deadheads with a penchant for jazz or vice versa saxophone maestro David Murray and his octet - Dark Star. David and Bob W duet on the last track. Great fun - different but respectful. On Astor Place CD.
Now playing…
Tomasz Stanko Quartet - Soul of Things
Tomasz Stanko (Trumpet), Marcin Wasilewski (Piano), Slawomir Kurkiewicz (Double-Bass) and Michal Miskiewicz (Drums).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… continuing on through the noon hour as I start up my exercise period with Tomasz and this fantastic talented quartet! This is one sweet album and one of my favorites from Tomasz… and sounding mighty sweet!
One of my favourite films, not seen for a while. Thanks for the prompt, I’ll give the OST a listen
LP - Speakers Corner 2014 reissue : )
