More essential 90s The Fall.

All the posts above about EC has put me in the mood for some classic EC, starting with this classic album.

Into the 2000s with Country On The Click/The Real New Fall LP.
One of their darkest sounding albums.
Paul Simon - Still Crazy After All These Years
Franz Schubert, Piano Sonata in B flat, D 960. “Wanderer” Fantasia. Alfred Brendel, piano. Philips LP (2013 reissue).
Schubert is one of my favourite composers, and Alfred Brendel a pianist I’ve enjoyed listening to for more than 40 years. I have other versions of the D 960, some of them excellent, but for some reason this is the one I I keep returning to. This 2013 vinyl reissue just blows the CD version out of the water.

Actually one fifth of the original Wailers along with Bob, Bunny, Junior Braithwaite and Beverley Kelso
But I detect a hint of tongue in cheek provocation in the remark

Goldfrapp, Silver Eye, first press on clear vinyl from four (!) years ago. C’mon, Will and Alison, pull yer fingers out! It’s time for summat new!
Arrived this morning, been enjoying streaming this the last few months, now sounding nice on the LP.
Only minor grumble is they put a sticker on the sleeve instead of the shrink, that does annoy me.
Anyway, as I’ve said before, imo this is not one of those barrel scraping for completist alternative/out take records. It stands alongside the original album to my ears as a genuinely complete sounding alternative version of the album
