Drive-By Truckers - Southern Rock Opera (2001)
Can’t wait for final track - “Angels and Fuselage” - about the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash. So poignant.
(There is a brilliant live version on YouTube - I will not spoil it.)

The London Howlin’ Wolf Sessions.

Now playing…
Ralph Towner - Travel Guide
Ralph Towner (Classical Guitar, 12-String Guitar), Wolfgang Muthspiel (Electric Guitar, Voice) and Slava Grigoryan (Classical Guitar, Baritone Guitar).
Streaming on Qobuz (88.2/24)… continuing on this afternoon with some more guitar playing from this fabulous trio and the opening track is sounding superb! …a beautiful album.
Lovely stuff, Tony. What an extraordinary, singular genius Zappa was. In this interview, he’s clearly just about on the right side of keeping his patience. Intimidatingly articulate too. A shame, then, that his music mostly leaves me unmoved.
Great album by a great band. Ian Gillan preferred this over “In Rock” which was Ritchie’s baby.
After a night of intense hard bop, I am ending with light breezy tunes and one hell of an album cover, I can just about see my old apartment on there
