What are you listening to in 2021 and why might anyone be interested

Since I got it, now listening to the 1990 concert.

This guy never got the respect he deserved, but wrote some great tunes

Bob Dylan - Dylan (aka A Fool Such As I).

Controversy surrounds this album. Was it bad feelings on the part of the record company when Dylan signed with Asylum? Dylan had said these were his warm up songs and not for releasing. Yet here they are.

The fans were upset that their songster was covering other people’s work instead of writing his own. Some would say covering them badly. On returning to Columbia, Dylan asked for the album to be struck from the catalogue.

By whom? Media? Right wing, reactionary America? Do you think he ever cared? I think not.

Counting Cows…August and Everthing After.
An excellent album that on checking I can’t believe I left off my favourite 25.

After playing Woodface last night, thought I would give this a whirl. They were very good imho. The Ghost of Lennon is still present.

The Cherry Thing. Whoever thought of combining Neneh Cherry with a Scandi improv jazz trio (+chums) is a genius. This is glorious down and dirty stuff. Stepdad Don would be proud. On CD.

I find it hard to listen to Zappa’s music and not connect it somehow to his social-political views mostly buried in his music… Maybe just me.

Scott Hamilton is such a fine sax player, and a really nice guy to boot. This live album is great.

From the same Naim playlist as earlier. Lots of OMG moments! Got lots of exploring to do.

This playlist is crammed full of brilliant sounding tracks. Worth an explore.

John Abercrombie - Cat ‘n’ Mouse

John Abercrombie (Guitar), Mark Feldman (Violin), Joey Baron (Drums) and Marc Johnson (Double-Bass).

Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… continuing on this afternoon with John’s “Cat ‘n’ Mouse” album which features one very fine quartet! Love this album… The guitar, violin, bass and drums work amazingly well together and this is one sweet album!

PRR
Eupnea

Pure Reason Revolution (PRR) is a British rock group formed at the University of Westminster in 2003. Their music incorporates elements of progressive rock and electronic. Their music has been variously described as ‘Astral Folk’ and ‘Progressive rock’. Rick Wakeman has given the band a favourable review.

Finding this rather stirring to put it mildly.
