Only just caught up on the Clash/Strummer discussion on the Thread so Sandinista (almost no filler on a triple!) and a few Joe solos played this arvo. Great stuff that to me doesn’t seem to have aged. Also spun Big Audio Dynamite No 10 Upping Street CBS BAD vinyl - a real mash up of styles that just works.

And iirc Joe insisted despite resistance from CBS that it should be priced the same as a single album.
Again iirc some cynical critics have said it would have made a better single album anyway

India.Arie Acoustic Soul
As it’s the 20th anniversary of its release and apparently Stevie Wonder said she’s a genius, thought it might be about time to give it a listen and see what all the fuss was about

Yeah, it’s not bad

The 'Stones | big hits [high tide and green grass] | 1966
Why, its just such a great compilation album of their best to date at that time. I think the 'Stones probably have the best compilation or best of albums out there, they had so much great material to choose from over the decades. Sounding great from this SACD rip.

Kandace Springs - The Women Who Raised Me

Blimey, I’ve gone all eclectic. Some Trance Blues (cheers @johnt), followed by some Southern Blues, ending with some vocal Jazz, tinged with a soulful lilt. These are surely some of the finest examples of their particular genre IMHO.

2018 release from the lovely Swedish sisters. Not listened to it in a while and, while not quite up there with their career high of “Stay Gold”, it’s still a lovely album.

So that’s how angels sound! :joy:

One day my house move will happen, and all my vinyl will be housed in the same room. Or at least inside
the house. One day!

This just rediscovered in the garage stash!

Genesis - Seconds Out.

Another winner from Abbey Road. My cd copy is weak and lacks a sense of scale. This reissue gives the instruments masses of scale Relative to each other, and a good sense of being there. (having seen these tracks being performed live many many times).
