Goldfrapp felt mountain. Not my usual cup of tea but it’s growing on me. Paper bag - no time to … Thought I heard it wrong. ![]()
Gazpacho, Missa Atropos, bandcamp
Rather good Norwegian Rock (post prog).
“…Missa Atropos is an ambitious concept album. Dealing with themes of death, fear and loneliness, it combines the band’s musical skills and haunting songwriting to create a beautiful and hypnotic piece of art.”
Keith Jarrett and Charlie Haden - Jasmine
A surprising pleasure because this CD usually gets an airing late at night.
Dave Holland Quintet - Points of View
Picking up the pace a touch…
Let me know when you get them so I can claim my commission from Mr Bongo

Not quite as good as his best but still great to these ears and… it’s Larry!
Stephen Bishop Kovacevich - Beethoven Piano Concertos 1 & 2
There may be many excellent recordings on Qobuz but the old ones are still wonderful.

However I appreciate others may love it..
Jean-Michel Jarre - Amazonia
Have been enjoying Sarathy Korwar & UPAJ Collective Night Dreamer sessions. So checking this live recording on Tidal to see if I want the LP.
I do!
Sarathy Korwar My East Is Your West
Claude Debussy, Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune / Première rhapsodie / Marche écossaise. Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, Bernard Haitink. Original Netherlands Philips LP, part of a 3-LP box set “Famous Orchestral Works” (1981).
In 1901 Debussy wrote a letter to a friend “I’m really disappointed with myself. I’m 39 years old and I have yet to compose a sigle masterpiece”. Yet the Prélude had been composed and published 7 years earlier, in 1894… Sometimes masterpieces are not easy to identify, even by their creator.
That LP set is a gem - The Concertgebouw’s unique sound and their enthusiastic yet disciplined playing are a perfect match for Debussy’s music, which is creative and well written. Sound quality is 1970’s Philips at their best, and the pressing is amazing - still a perfectly silent LP 40 years later.
BTW This morning Discogs shows 31 for sale, starting at $6.75CDN

Morgan James - Memphis Magnetic Stripped
Thanks to @Zinc for bringing this talented artist to my attention early last year and thanks to @HappyListener for reminding me to listen to her again. This is a newly released 5 track ep which showcases acoustic versions from the MM album.
