Singles night!!

Ah, changing the record after each song is a bit tedious. Could be a while before I do this again. Some great memories for me in there though.

On CD, this monumental record from 1959 is one of the two or three greatest jazz vocal albums ever made.

I cannot wait until next month, when the all-analogue Craft Records vinyl reissue comes out.

Still one of the oddest bands I’ve ever come across.

Last Night At The Proms crossed with almost Wakeman-esque proggy nonsense. Just can’t get my head around em, but something about The Enid makes me smile .

Yes I have that on pre-order too…

The double pack widely available at the time EMI Manhattan version of Actually by Pet Shop Boys, with bonus 12” of contemporary non-album hit, Always On My Mind.

This is my newest and my second copy & it’s a near mint one, that I’m delighted to have courtesy of local vinyl shop.
SQ is excellent compared to my worn and well travelled other copy.

Released on Friday this is their latest album which, is like a hard hitting cinematic soundscape where prog rock and folk meets metal. The best album they have made since the seminal Sorni Nai.

Warning: It’s heavy and may not be to everyone’s taste, but they’re a very talented band and this album is superb.

Genre: Metal / Prog Metal.

Oceans Ate Alaska - Hikari (the non instrumental version).

There is just something about these 1961 recordings.

Not a great Paul Weller fan, but really rather enjoy this album of him in the Style Council era

Blimey, the 12” of Always On My Mind (Dance Mix) is pure thwack and racket joyfulness.

Contrasting with the quintessential PSB B-side, in title and execution, Do I Have To?
Sublime and so English, in the long vein of colloquialisms as songs.

Ha, that made me chuckle. Have fun!

Time for some sheer class.
My old US Stax copy, still going strong.
Beautiful people, great music.
