Happy Birthday Billy Cobham!
Born in Colón, Panama.
( Cobham moved with his family to Brooklyn, New York, when he was three )
77 years old Today!
LP One of the four-LP Impulse! 60th box set, featuring Coltrane J, Max Roach, Quincy and Elvin Jones. Sound is very good.
My Nephews latest collaboration with the Ed’s from Friendly Fires dropped on Bandcamp today. Love it.
Very good indeed … playing it now after seeing your post.
Great stuff!… not for the faint hearted

This is such a great Americana album, and it is constantly played. ©℗®™Belter @NigelB
Saw Billy Cobham in 2014 at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival for his 70th Birthday concert. Brilliant performer and an amazing drummer, he still had plenty on tap even at that age!
Interesting coindence: I was listening to this old (1978) LP as I read your post
I have several versions of the “Military” and the “London” Symphonies but this one may be my favourite. In particular the rhythm of the 104’s Menuet is simply irresistible.
