Melody Gardot | Some Lessons | 2005
Because this morning I found that @seakayaker had been listening to a lot of MG overnight so I thought I would gently start my Sunday morning with her very first and self-released album that was otherwise known as The Bedroom Sessions because it was recorded in her hospital bedroom while spending months recovering from being run over by an SUV while out riding her bicycle age 19. All the songs were written by her and she produced the album herself.

I hear you’re mad about Brubeck
I like your eyes, I like him too
He’s an artist, a pioneer
We’ve got to have some music on the new frontier

Just shows we’re all different, in a good way. I love Dusty but also love this rendition of her songs. Outstanding sound on the Analogue Productions vinyl too.

I don’t hate it. Was just hoping I’d love it.

More rock than pop from the 60s - albeit with curious fake Radio London jingles.
