First listen to these superb Nimbus West label re issues from Pure Pleasure
Horace Tapscott- Live At Lobero vols 1 & 2 (Pure Pleasure/Nimbus West)
I’ve heard some pretty poor sounding Nimbus West titles on stream but these PP Kevin Gray Analogue cuts are, sorry for the technical jargon, the dogs bollocks!
I do! Great humour too…
That’s odd. I’ve just sampled Live at Lobero Vol. 1 on Qobuz (16bit, 44.1kHz) and it sounds fine to me. Were you listening to an MP3 version?
Back to Jazz Record Requests now.
Eric Gale. Forecast. 1973. Vinyl. With quite a bit of input from Bob James. Some serious session guys on here.
No not MP3. A while back I listened to various Nimbus West on Tidal and maybe Qobuz some sounded like poor needledrops, sorry dont recall the specific titles.
I would really recommend the Pure Pleasure re issues though

Interesting and enjoyable collection by stellar performers, but mostly it made me want to hear the originals performed by Tom!
