Happy 50th Birthday Beth Hart!
born 24th January 1972 and raised in Los Angeles, California
That’s why, no matter how good streaming is, I will never get rid of my cds or vinyl. It’s part of my history. Good and bad.
My ‘Tommy’ LP has the strangest mix. The vocals and the drums are out front and really clear - the sound of Moon’s drums on “The Hawker/Eyesight to the Blind” will rattle the fillings from your teeth. Other instruments are buried. I happen to think The Who are poorly served on the LPs I possess, bar the extended ‘Live at Leeds’ that came out a few years ago. Strangely - my double album has side 1 and side 4 on one disc, and sides 2 and 3 on the other, which is hardly convenient. Anyhow, despite the gripes, a wonderful album.
Sweet Pea Atkinson - Get What You Deserve
Produced by Keb’ Mo’ this is Soulful stuff from the co-lead singer of Was (Not Was).
The side numbering 1/3, 2/4 would imply an early pressing, when stacking records on a tall spindle was common…imagine - side 4 smacks down into side 1 (with a fair wallop)…ouch!
All we need now is someone to play Floyd Council.
And that’s how Syd came up with that name.
This came on the radio just now, blimey takes me back!
Same old boring Sunday morning, old mans out…washing the car
Classic from the wonderfully named Nicky Tesco.
