What are you listening to in 2022 and why might anyone be interested

Just to illustrate band member "Dr. " Fink I guess, at least we can tell the figure is a doctor/surgeon with his mask and gown?

Ah, right. Didnt really spot he’s meant to be a doc. Ageing old phone and ever more ageing peepers! :joy:

I see that’s just out on Blue Note Classic, any good?

It’s a great album, despite being a bit short by current standards.

Alabama 3 - Step 13.

More bonkers goodness from Alabama 3, and one of my three favourite albums from last year.

Teeny thread drift:

@Dreadatthecontrols,

Finally nailed that elusive East End music venue, courtesy of a mate from that era, who is lucky enough to still have a functioning memory!

Twas the Tidal Basin Tavern, on Tidal Basin Road, off Silvertown Way.

It had a bit of a reputation as a roughhouse, and had the obligatory strippers on at lunchtimes, and live music a couple of evenings a week, Siouxsie and The Banshees playing one of their early gigs there.

We used to rock up on occasional weekday evenings between '79 / '82, when there would often be a sound system on.

Happy days.

A rather nice album of 70s style guitar and organ instrumental noodling from these Swiss chappies.

Caravan crossed with Atomic Rooster?

More instrumental guitar work. Jazz infused rock Norwegian style.

Excellent.:ok_hand:

Joni does jazz - The Hissing of Summer Lawns - her ‘difficult’ 7th (?) album. Moving further away from the confessional with complex songwriting, diverse styles oh and the Burundi drummers. What more could you want? On UK first press vinyl (with the US cover).
