Isn’t that Mingus.
The great Beware Dub
Yabby U & The Prophets, Grove Music.
One of the finest, and perhaps my favourite, Dub albums of all time.
You mean titularily? Arguably it’s a progression from Court & Spark onwards.
LAURA NYRO Eli And The Thirteenth Confession (1968 UK first issue. Laura’s style was a hybrid of Brill Building-style New York pop, jazz, gospel, rhythm and blues, show tunes, rock and soul. This album her second includes the original versions of Sweet Blindness, Stoned Soul Picnic and Eli’s Comin, which were later hits for 5th Dimension and Three Dog Night.
Generally when mention of her, Jazz and difficult album = Mingus although one of my favourites especially ‘The Wolf that lives in Lindsey’.
Your memory not totally faded then.
Alway thought this was a crap cover for a pretty good album.
I had totally forgotten about that venue and the acts😉
Jan 29, Rose and Crown…woohoo, this weekend!
Very nuff said!
Still takes my breath away
Great Debut.
Enjoying an early evening blast of “All Mod Cons” by The Jam
Always liked the song “In the Crowd”, which thankfully featured in their farewell TV appearance (The Tube - 1982) with Weller giving it maximum Steve Marriott moves:
I have to agree, the cover really doesn’t do the music justice.
