One of the great avant-garde albums of the 70’s onward. It contains multitudes, from rock n roll & bluesy funk to sheer out-there vocal solo magnificence. Not to mention a tabla or two.

He released his first full album in 2016 after 43 years and then sadly died age 70 in 2020. The guy was a genius and he should have enjoyed huge success. Hopefully there will be future releases from the vault as I believe he recorded his songs whilst working as a recording engineer, in his studio…

A brief exchange a few days back on this forum re. Aimee Mann prompted me to take this one out for a play (Michael Penn is married to Aimee Mann). Brilliant album - and glad I kept my original vinyl.
