Miles Davis - ‘Live at Fillmore East, March 7th. 1970, It’s About That Time’ (2001). These live concert recordings from the ‘Silent Way’ and ‘Brew’ era are great jazz fusion performed by a who’s who of Davis with Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette and Airto Moreira. As was often the case in this period the tracks were presented as a sort of continuous ‘set’ with transitions led by Davis. New ‘rock’ tracks like ‘Directions’ and ‘Spanish Key’ and mixed with older works such as ‘Masquelero’ but presented in a completely different way with a rock ‘vibe’ and ‘attack’. In recent years many more concert recordings from this period have become available and they are great fun!

Not sure about some of the clean vocals, and think Mars To Sirius is a better album…

But this’ll do!

Last one of the day … Dance by Gary Numan 1981.
This is one I would love to hear on top-end gear, it has a lovely sound with Mick Karn on fretlass bass and superb production. Tubeway Army it certainly ain’t.

If you’ve not heard them already, I recommend the Remember Shakti albums too, especially Saturday Night in Bombay, on which John features more prominently on electric guitar.
