Thanks. I have heard of ‘Remember Shakti’ but not investigated them yet and didn’t realise that they had more ‘electric’ input. I will make that a project soon!

Remember Shakti also had the late great U. Srinivas on electric mandolin. I remember one gig at the South Bank where he and McLaughlin were trading licks on guitar and mandolin, each creating a variation on the other’s line and speeding it up, Srinivas finally created a line of such beauty and complexity than McLaughlin took his hands off his guitar and offered namaste. Srinivas was a player of delicacy and great technique. and wrote very beautiful music.

I really like this new album from Avishai Cohen. The tracks don’t have names as such, just Part 1 to Part 8. Whether intentional or not, Part 7 seems to have snippets of ‘And I Love Her’. I wonder if it’s my imagination.
