Elton John - Here And There , playing the second disc from the expanded set, recorded at Madison Square Garden, featuring John Lennon.
If this was on ECM (sounds like it should have been) it would be lauded as a masterpiece. It was on Private Records (Peter Baumann’s label)
Chad Wackerman, Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans (Sax), Mark Isham and Brian Auger are on board.
Track 3 will test your speakers’ glue. Dynamics are incredible.
I can’t play the opening track on this one, as one night years ago I dropped it and of course it hit the base of one of the speaker stands resulting in a lovely scratch. Such a pity as the rest of it is mint.
Lesson - alcohol and vinyl LPs do not go together… never again!!!
Now playing…

Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/24)… I had placed this album from Some in the queue awhile ago after many mentions and finally taking out for spin to kick off this Monday morning and Some and her talented group of musicians are sounding mighty sweet! …an enjoyable album and sound to ease into the day.
