Totally original, but one of the craziest gigs I ever went to, all sorts of contraptions stuck on to various guitars, maybe his albums are more accessible?
Robbie McIntosh - Thanks Chet.

Western Stars
Followed by
Wrecking Ball

One of Rufus Thomas kids.
Just felt like this today while doing my daily routine on the cross trainer….on CD as the LP12 does not get on with the cross trainer….
I’m interested by the mastered from original analogue tapes claim for the 2015 2LP.
'94 when the original came out was a time when iirc vinyl wasnt being taken very seriously in favour of CD and not always made with much care. I wonder if the '94 was mastered from the digital file used for the CD, it is also a Direct Metal Mastering which havent always been well regarded.
Anyway, not played in a while will have to revisit it when my new Superline/HCDR arrives and see
Cheers
His recording of Bear Cat at Sun Studio’s iirc was the song later adapted by Elvis as Hound Dog. Of course you know that but it just came to mind
Rufus Thomas - Bear Cat (Tidal/Sun Records)
Prompted by Ewemon
Lavern Baker - Soul On Fire, The Best Of (Tidal/Atlantic)
Some proper RnB in the cab
Home-recorded solo (Spi)ritual Jazz:
Angel Bat Dawid The Oracle
She’s great!
Just ordered Angel’s Live album with her band, Tha Brothahood. Should be a treat going by this.
Edit - she’s playing at Jazz Café in May! Oooh…may have to get the evening off.
