Whilst the rest of the band made Carl & The Passions, Brian concentrated on this, American Spring. (1972).
Counters the myth that Brian was a spent force after SMiLE, rather he was making an altogether different kind of folksy music with his wife and her sister.
The Beach Boys’ version of Darlin’ is one of their best late 60s singles, and there’s a fantastic girl group rendition here, too, titled Thinking About You, Baby, it’s original title.

Just played Steve Winwood - Higher Love Remix - where did that come from?
Been a SW fan since I saw him aged about 15 with the Spencer Davis Group at the CAT (College of Advanced Technology) Student’s Union, Birmingham now known as Aston University.
Timewarp Ireland must be one of the best pop/rock IR stations at least on a par with Radio Paradise.
Being fixed on vTuner at the moment.
