Róisín Murphy Róisín Machine / 2020 Skint / UK CD / BRASSIC120CD

Had a listen to RM’s recent release Hit Parade, which has some very good moments, but for me, it is not as consistent as this fine recording.

The first outing from CAN in 1969 … pretty sweet, man.

I was thinking exactly the same thing playing Hit Parade yesterday, wondered if the ‘patchyness’ is due to the running order, whereas 'Machine flows really nicely?

Consistently very good musically and always nicely engineered.

On vinyl: Paul Simon - The Rhythm Of The Saints. Too often, when in the mood for listening to Paul Simon, I’ll automatically reach for Graceland. For a change, I picked the album which followed Graceland which is, perhaps, a more low-key album but a rewarding listen nonetheless.

Wolfgang Muthspiel - Dance of the Elders

Wolfgang Muthspiel Guitars), Scott Colley (Double Bass) and Brian Blade (Drums).

Streaming on Qobuz (96/24)… released on September 28 and taking out for its first spin and Wolfgang, Scott and Brian are sounding mighty sweet on the opening track… Looking forward to the rest of the album!
