Yes The Yes Album / 2003 Atlantic / Germany CD / 8122737882

Prompted by @QuickSticks earlier choice to give this a spin.

Us cool folk listening to the Dead & Miles smoking old growler roll ups used to deride this stuff listened to by floppy haired English students waving their french fags around whilst discussing Structuralism. Then I crashed a party and met one exactly 48 years ago today (as I am reliably informed). CD rip via HiRes player with headphone splitter - aww!

For those like me who know little about (British) jazz Impressed With Gilles Peterson is an enjoyable introduction. Playing Vol. 2, Vol.1 is even better I think but both are great.

That’s a perfect album. Played regularly, especially in the car. Happy anniversary.

Great reissue series whilst it lasted - culminating in two memorable concerts at The Barbican and a BBC documentary series !

Dire Straits - Love Over Gold (1982).

Not exactly background music, this album needs your attention, but the rewards are worth it. Lots of layers to get your head round.
