Panned by the critics but a crafted album with superb musicianship including the late great Jeff Pocaro on drums. Worth it for the exquisite Planet Of New Orleans alone.

Frank Zappa - Sheik Yerbouti

Just for the guitar solo on the track Yo Mama. Skip Frank’s nonsense at the beginning and dial in at the 2 minute mark then sign off at 10 minutes.

For 8 minutes you’ll hear such an awesome solo. The guitar tone is immense and the melody is just about as good as it gets.

Not to be confused with Glenmorangie’s famous 16 Men of Tain (plus several mates in this pic)

I honestly can’t ever remember listening to Supertramps self titled debut album I like most I’ve always focused on the big 4 starting with Crime of the Century and ending with Breakfast in America.

It obviously isn’t the instant grab like those albums but so far worth a listen.

Looking forward to seeing Lloyd Cole in a few weeks in Sydney, picked this 4 cd collection up at his last gig here (that I saw) about 10 years ago. Haven’t played it for awhile.

Cleaning Out The Ashtrays (disc 1).
