Powered the system down for 8 hours on Friday, then we were away for the weekend, so this is the first listening session since the power down.
System sounding really great with a bit of Joe Satriani to continue the session.
The sleeve is in a frame, but the record is not😁

I didn’t enjoy this latest pressing so sent it back. I’ve two originals (one being the fabled 6e4e), three 40th’s and a couple if ‘green’ labels. The 6e4e & 40th blow this one away IMHO of course! So why would I bother to play it I reasoned.

Modern Bluegrass to start the day.
Punch Brothers Hell On Church Street, Nonesuch.

(I’ll forgive them for Streets Of London. A nice bluegrass version of Quicksilver’s Pride Of Man makes up for it. )

Exactly my thoughts. Put it on the ‘go pile’ after two plays.

House Of Tuff Scout - Out On The Floor Dub (Tuff Scout LP)

I was particularly drawn to the sleeve on this. UK Roots & Dub production team Tuff Scout pay A homage to the specialist JA music shops with each track named after one of those amazing places (Daddy Kool, Dub Vendor, Peckings,Greensleeves, Supertone etc etc)
The back cover brings back memories especially of being crammed into Dub Vendor’s Record Shack outside Ladbroke Grove tube

Seemed excellent to me, but my old 1972 copy is really worn (bottom left) and therefore no longer sounding great. The one at the top is my UK 1st Issue, which I’m in no hurry to play although I may do one day.

I don’t think I’m in a hurry to spend another £100 plus for a top condition copy of the 40th Anniversary release. :man_shrugging:t2:

Pink Floyd - Animals (Original 1977)
Feeling it’s age a bit, just like my early Ziggy, but still prefer it to the new one😊
