DM 101 - 1988

Prices looking hefty for this years tour, London only UK gig?

I bought the recent 2011 Steven Wilson remix, 2022 reissue on 180gm for the same reason and I think it sounds very fine. Not everyone is a fan of his remixes (you can stream it on Tidal to check it out first) but I like it. I picked up the European pressing although I am in Canada and it wasn’t too bad a price.

I saw @Neilb1906 post on the recent vinyl purchase thread that he’d just bought a copy of this and it made me want to play it for the first time in decades…

New to me and utterly brilliant. Just heard it on the R3 Mixtape - Steve Reich’s ‘Electric Counterpoint’ transcribed for percussion and performed by Kuniko

DM - Black Celebration - 2007 extended version

22 tracks here rather than the 11 on my well-worn original vinyl, the additions accentuating the darkness, Black Day/Christmas Island a sinister ending to the re-issue. Brilliant.

She’s very good, Chris. Just unearthed this Xennakis SACD (on Linn Records) she did seven or eight years ago:

Thanks Kev - just listened to the whole of the Steve Reich and it is just incredible. I’ve now found a 2017 recording with Linn of music by Bach transcribed for marimba - includes pieces from The Well Tempered Clavier, cello suites etc. I’m very surprised that I haven’t seen her on the Forum before considering the talent on display here
