Captain & Tennille, keeping our love warm. Enjoyed their debut album so much I went on to play this as well.
Chicago. Chicago Transit Authority.
Debut album. Almost a comfort blanket. Sounding as good today as 50 years ago.
Definitely a top-shelf debut!
Because it’s that time of night.
And now, apparently, it’s this time of night.
Won’t post a cover but giving Can We Do Tomorrow Another Day another spin. It’s definitely my album of the year (so far).
My pink copy just arrived - it is rather nice I agree Pete! Quite liked the art print too
I don’t buy much these days but am definitely buying a hi res copy. Think I’ve played it every day since it was released, love it.
Eeeelectricity!
Total classic. Imagine if Ry had stayed on for Trout Mask!
“The three men I admire most
The Father, Son and Mickie Most
Took the last train for the coast
And rendezvoused with Peter Glaze
To kill Don Maclean”
Let’s get real!

Well I guess it means more to me than you, but hey we’re all entitled to an opinion.
It’s a great song and at the time I thought that HMHB’s take on poor old Don was a bit vicious but after reading about his wife and daughter’s life I find it hard to feel the same way about his output.
But I am aware that one has to be able to separate the artist from the art, as one’s memories and associations cannot be undone.

Very true, sometimes it also makes hypocrites out of us. I can remember seeing photos of Bowie in a nazi uniform in the 70s but I still listen to his music.
You can’t change what you’ve said only what you’re about to say.
