Thought I’d stay with Avenged Sevenfold, but my favourite release from them…
This is such a good album and sadly the last of Drummer & founding member Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. RIP😢
Haha! Yes!
I know vinyl isnt where your at currently but maybe persuade John to get a copy of the Tone Poet Slow Drag, theres so much more revealed that isnt heard on the CD or stream. Some of the background "yeah"s and moanin noises from the players sound almost pornographic! Not that I know about such things
Would never have listened to this if not for posts on this forum. It’s rather marvellous. Caroline Polacheck - Desire I Want to Turn Into You.
Never mind cables, just skin one up and you’ll hear plenty bandwidth
A recently newly disovered name to me. Have been enjoying Afro Harping a lot on stream recently, now a first listen to The Rubaiyat Of Dorothy Ashby…
Dorothy Ashby - Afro Harping (Qobuz)
The Rubaiyat Of Dorothy Ashby (Qobuz)
I think I prefer the former
Three tracks in streaming on Qobuz and enjoying this a lot.
Another for the “buy” list.
So much came from him… A great innovator and wonderful musician.
Lucky enough to see him play in the ‘70s.
A great box to tick- nice one.
Ravel’s Mother Goose suite (the 1911 orchestrated version) is one of the loveliest, most “Technicolor” pieces of music ever written.
Absolutely agree with you Kev. If you haven’t heard it yet , this version from Francois-Xavier Roth and Les Siecles is just stunning. Also has an equally good version of Le Tombeau de Couperin which is my favourite piece by Ravel (and possibly by anyone)
Give it a couple of runs. It”s indeed very varied, but I wouldn’t be amazed if you regard it as a great album after multiple plays. I just run it again and like it actually…
