Steve Earle - I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive
Which unfortunately is the same for all of us!!
Plan B - The Defamation of Strickland Banks.
Ben Drew, aka Plan B, manages to combine the sound of Motown, Stax and Northern soul, filtered through the grit of contemporary East London with a bit of rap.
This unlikely combination produced more earworms than any album has any right to, and it remains an all time favourite of mine.
They were ruddy marvelous at 2011 V Fest!
More from the wonderful Steve Young. His version of Tobacco Road is a stunner. Vinyl.
Palmer - LittleFeat, wonderful. Pressure Drop also essential imo.
The Meters, Rejuvenation.
I can’t remember why this was added to my Qobuz favourites, if it was someone on here recommending it, thank you!
Funk and soul, perfect on a warm evening 8) Probably pretty great on a cold dark winter’s one too
Pressure Drop is in tomorrows playlist
