What are you listening to in 2024 and why might anyone be interested?

Been spending a lot of time with new releases recently.

Easy to forget there was some good music in the 80’s

Yes, liked Squire back in the day, had their LPs and saw them live many times.
I did prefer Secret Affair and Small World and the Purple Hearts were a good live band.
Glad to say all three are still doing the circuit with minor lineup changes.
I would probably say Small World have survived the best sound wise.
Great days.

What a year 1989 was on the metal scene, a great time to be forming musical taste.

Some absolutely stunning music on here. Flack’s voice just soars at times. Beautiful. Vinyl.

Glorious album. ‘Shifts’ is a particular favourite. The only flaw it has is the fact it fades out. The song itself is haunting and beautiful.

@Cmax above reminded me that I haven’t listened to MTH in quite a while. Here are their greatest hits on an orange vinyl double LP, exclusively sold through Sainsbury’s:

The only V.M. album I still listen to. As my ears get older, his voice gets harder to bear. Or maybe I need to upgrade my system.

Beth Gibbons - Lives Outgrown. This is good, really enjoyable but fails to reach the heights of Portishead for me. Vinyl.

Last of the day. Might as well make it a good ‘un.
