What would be the Impossible Dream album was first recorded with legendary producer Shel Talmy but the band binned the album and Shel returned to the US with the tapes.
This has been remastered and sounds wonderful.
Tomahawk Kid is a classic track and Long Haired Music could have been a worldwide massive hit - it would been a great single for Kiss.
Always thought Zal Cleminson was one of the great guitarists of the 70’s.

Back in summer '86
One day i had the peculiar idea to wash it but suddenly…i had it since the day it came out and it’s perfect. I do enjoy this record as it was the first day.
Sometimes i wonder why they do make all that talking about 180 grs and remasters…
Seen this pop up a number of times on the thread these last few weeks and out of curiosity decided to give it a ‘spin’.
All I can say is “phenomenal”!
Exceptionally deep and layered songwriting with an exceptional 16/44 recording that is so crystal clear and intimate that this album just sings ‘quality’.
A deeply troubled soul with more than a glimpse here of Gavin’s geniality with making music, that (I read) sadly went unrecognised at the time.
First two tracks whet the appetite for the promise of a great album and each track that follows is memorable in so many different ways.
A beautiful virtuoso of trumpet and drums so nicely recorded. Just loving the scale, breadth and decay on the drums/percussion that surrounds the central trumpet and occasional vocals.
Wonderful collaboration that I guess may never have happened had they’d ‘left it’ a year or so longer…
