No I don’t, which performance would that be?
Holland & Wild Honey/ The Beach Boys.
Only a few years apart but very different albums, both an essential part of their story.
More live duo music from Costello. Great late evening listening. Uniti Core.
While waiting for room service to deliver breakfast, first chance to listen to Finning (ex Powderfinger) and Dempsey National Park
Sorry I may have missed it but is there any new material on this release?
Contrary to received wisdom, this is pretty good. Well, in the context of it being a late post-Love You LP with a smattering of schmaltzy moments (Bruce’s Endless Harmony is godawful).
The rest is aimless but really enjoyable. Also, and this maybe just me, there’s a darkness lurking just below the surface of the cheeriness.
Keepin’ The Summer Alive/The Beach Boys (1980).
A final one tonight. Probably where Costello & Frisell first worked together? Really excellent meditations on Mingus with great SQ. Uniti Core.
@Pete_the_painter tracklist is:
Jazz Is What We Say It Is!
Up In Smoke
Home Is Where The Hatred Is
How To Spot A Sociopath
Interlude
You Can Run But You Can’t Hide
Summertime
Making An Offering
She Said
The great thing about Bandcamp, as you probably know Pete, is that you can try before you buy.
There’s also a teaser vid:
Im sorry, kev, I really wanted to enjoy the video and I did. But… who’s is that guy in green, playing sax? Very distracting… can’t get my eyes off the bloke. It looks like he’s lost.
He’s got that look like he’s worried if he’s going to get paid for the gig. I’m sure he’s a nice guy.
Pressure! Hope you like it!
It’s the fate of all saxophonists not to get paid. They accept it with resignation and grace.
Just tell him to stop staring.
Keyboards sound great BTW.
I shall report back.
