96kHz/24 bit files. It’s a goodie!
Finally caught up with Val Wilmer on DID. A life well lived. This is the disc she would save from the waves, who am I to disagree with jazz royalty. On Pure Pleasure Columbia reissue from a couple of years back.
Its a great track from Bob’s 1996 self titled album
Now playing…
Djabe & Steve Hacket - Life Is A Journey: The Sardinia Tapes
Tamás Barabás (Bass, Guitar, Synth, Percussion, Vocal), Gulli Briem (Drums, Percussion), Áron Koós-Hutás (Trumpet), Attila Égerházi (Guitar, Guitar Synthesizer, Percussion) and Steve Hackett (Guitar).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… continuing on this morning with Djabe & Steve Hacket and they are sounding sublime! …life is sweet and so is the music.
Nat King Cole. CD. From an earlier prompt. Great songs, great voice and great playing. Unlike a lot of his stuff, this is not covered in string arrangements and is just a Jazz group. Lovely.
Really well recorded but I can’t make my mind up if it is Mono or Stereo. Not easy to tell tbh.
First spin…
Lovely sounding album…
Bill Evans/Jim Hall - Undercurrent.
2024 Jackpot Records vinyl release…
If you’ve listened to the post-1999 remastered version, it could well be they’ve also performed the ‘Stereo enhanced mono’ trick?
Yes, says 1999 on the notes. Recorded in 57 I think.
J.J. Cale | Really | 1972
The Breeze, the man doing his wonderful thing which is just what I’m just in the mood for.
Same here on the CD – but I also have my late dad’s NKC box set (‘Forever Yours’) from the early-1970s, and the covering notes state some of the tracks have been enhanced due, in part, as Capitol’s recording studio in Hollywood recorded the tracks in mono.
‘The full stereo effect will be obtained with stereophonic equipment’
Now, where do I wind the handle
Looks interesting- where would one pick up that from oh great one.
John Surman - Words Unspoken
Hitting 80 this year and still going strong - I think this is one of his best.
It’s not out yet - released 22nd March. I got a press pre-release set of files.
Cracker!
