May I suggest you to listen to this one as well? You might enjoy it.
Simply Red - Picture Book B-Sides & rarities
Looking forlornly at Her Madjesty’s Ray Of Light tape, wondering how it would compare on my long-gone Nak compared to a high-res stream? I really ought to get a vinyl copy one day, the William Orbit production is terrific.
Great recommendation Andy. Keep them coming. Just ordered the double CD silence & wisdom and double happiness. There are some similarities to Virginia Astley, but it’s great stuff on first listen. By the way the Francoise Hardy Entr’acte recommendation was a belter too. I love some of the quieter more introspective songs on the second half. Cheers.
This evening i found myself listening to a bunch of ambient music from the early and mid 90s. Mostly because i needed something quiet in the background while my wife and i eased down from a long day, but also because I’m rather a fan of some ambient forms.
So this evening i passed through the works of Pete Namlook and Bill Laswell with Psychonavigation 1 and 5
And then finished with the excellent Biosphere and Higher Intelligence Agency’s Polar Sequences
I like all of these works for different reasons (Psychonavigation has always been a series that i gravitate to if I’ve got work to do late at night and don’t want to be distracted by lyrics), but Polar Sequences is particularly special. It’s got ur right mixture of found sounds, brooding menace, and open spaces in the music.

Cowboy Bebop - Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door O.S. T. Future Blues (LP box-set)
Never listened to the Cowboy Bebop movie soundtrack and have no memory of it as I haven’t seen the movie in over 20 years but it’s fantastic obviously as it’s by the sublime Yoko Kanno. Like the rest of the records in the box set the sound quality is excellent.
Enjoying a Core rip of this beautifully presented double CD which comes in a ‘book’ cover with great photos & extensive liner notes. I own all Kinks on Pye & Marble Arch but never bothered with their output on RCA until now. Couldn’t resist this bargain package though!
I have this album on CD, but Iron & Wine had completely escaped my mind for the last decade! Currently having a catch up on their other albums on Spotify.
fantastic album, great artist
