Renaissance - Turn of the Cards - 1974
Prologue has always been my go-to album of theirs, but this is pretty good.

Thunder. Back Street Symphony. Debut album on Vinyl 1990.
A great album imho, the spirit of Free/Bad Company is never far away.

The Specials - Specials - CD (1979)
There’s a lot of interest in the 2 tone label at the moment, seems a shame to not join in.
Another double CD compilation of themes, easy and library stuff. Guaranteed to brighten up a grey Wednesday afternoon.
The Firm - epon.
I mentioned the Firm on the Concerts thread the other day and wanted to remind myself of what they were like. This, their first album, is the better of the two. Sounds more Bad Co. than Led Zeppelin.
Just for completeness, here’s the second (and last) album.
Once this has finished I’ll be able to pack them away for another 35 years.
I’ve been playing a stack of Neil Young and Grateful Dead recently, which brought me to this Oasis, latterly RJ Fox, album from 1973.
Produced/engineered by Stephen Barncard, and it carries that era’s and specifically his sound. cf. If Only I Could Remember My Name, Workingman’s Dead/American Beauty.

Whilst not on the 2-Tone label, still most definitely part of the 2-Tone Movement, and, maybe just, one of the best debut albums around.
Tough day so time for a therapeutic spot of on your feet or on your knees from Blue Oyster Cult. Heavy & punchy. Bigly satisfying. Original much abused vinyl long gone so Tidalising.
Still find that pointless umlaut annoying tho!
It Doesn’t matter Dave, Great debut, great music
Belter!
Yes, because of the new BBC drama series “This Town”, about an extended family and four young people that are drawn into the world of ska and two-tone music.
Yep, saw the first episode over the weekend
Best of Ry Cooder. CD. Forgot we had this. Some good songs.
