Billy Joel - The Stranger (originally from 1977)
Tidal MQA Stream Legacy Edition

For me this is his best album and one of the best from the big players in the USA. The second part on here is a Carnegie Hall Concert from June 1977 which was fantastic and beautifully recorded and performed. I just love his iconic songs like Vienna, Movin‘ Out or The Stranger. :+1:

The stereo imaging on this, particularly on Lose Yourself to Dance, on the 200 system in nearfield is just phenomenal - arcs of sound rising to the ceiling, blows me away every time.

Big Star - #1 Record

Looking forward to this remastered and Hi Res.l reissue today.

Gave my 16bit CD Rip a spin first and then the new reissue. Well I won’t be splashing out on the remastered Hi Res.

A great record but how do they have the nerve to put this stuff out.

Just given newly released single from Mr Gilmour’s forthcoming album a quick listen on Qobuz. Something very Floydian about it, which is perhaps not surprising. Starts slow and builds to a typical Dave guitar solo at the end.

Good enough to want to hear the rest of the album when it’s released in September.
