It’s a real pity that the Deluxe edition of Roberta’s third album Quiet Fire has never been realeased on any physical format (vinyl or CD), because the extra material is superb. The 15-minute jazz trio take on the Carpenters’ “Superstar” is just outrageous in its brilliance.

Years ago, I attended a Naim dealers demo evening of the newly introduced Ovator squeakers.
After the umpteenth endless playing of DSOTM, I asked if they might play “Am I Wrong” from this album, which I had brought along.
Suddenly, the audience awoke from their Floyd induced slumbers, feet were tapping, and it was requested again, several times over.
Still remains one my go to test choons when demoing new kit. ![]()
Funnily enough Dave, it was the first thing I chose to play on my CDx2 tonight after using an Oppo player exclusively for the last couple of weeks. I knew it would sound great even if the cd player hadn’t properly warmed up.
