It’s standing the test of time
Tears For Fears: Songs From The Big Chair
Needs no introduction, jut the occasional reminder it’s still out there.
I know Geddys vocals aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but give this one a go. Just powered everything back up after thunder storms passed over and it’s a great example of what made Rush.
BU2B up loud, a thing of wonder!
Mariah Carey, music box. It is the 4 album 30th anniversary edition so almost 3.5 hours long. All Mariah Carey’ed out this morning.
Type O Negative - Dead Again (2007, green vinyl)
Type O’s final album due to the untimely death of frontman/bass player Petr Steele (RIP) was a return to form after the middling Life Is Killing Me. Dead Again blends the manic, hardcore energy of their early days (and Steele’s previous hardcore band, Carnivore) with the thick, dirge-like riffs and overall vibe of World Coming Down and the combination is bliss. It’s as if the crew so enjoyed the catchy, punky melange they crafted with “I Don’t Wanna Be Me” from Life Is Killing Me (the album’s best track by a wide margin and one of the best the band has ever penned, full stop) and crafted an entire album around that sound. If you can listen to “Halloween In Heaven” without headbanging like a madman then you my friend are indeed dead. A fitting send-off the one-of-a-kind Steele.
Shame the sound-quality of this pressing is awful. Flat, devoid of dynamic range and far too quiet.
EDIT: I was confused thinking that this was only one disc when it’s actually two. Must have been thinking of a different album. Clearly needed more coffee. Makes the awful sound quality even more perplexing.
Not much of an indie fan, but this is a cracking album. Thanks to @IainO for the tip.
Another Sky - Beach Day.
This is a band I have never listened to enough of.
The Black Crowes - Shake Your Moneymaker
Went for the original rather than the “Extended Remastered Super Deluxe 30th Anniversary Edition”.
I honestly struggle to get my head around how a perfectly excellent 10 track rock album becomes a 3 CD, 36 Track Boxset
Roachford. Permanent Shade of Blue. CD. 1994. Some very good songs on here. Talented guy imho. Jeff Beck on one track.
I saw him when he toured this album, excellent, and also have seen him as singer in Mike and the Mechanics which he still does.
Goldfrapp - Seventh Tree - CD (2008)
Happy Birthday, Alison Goldfrapp 13/05/66
Alison Goldfrapp, English singer-songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the electronic music duo Goldfrapp who had the 2008 UK No.2 album Seventh Tree.
Yard Act - The Overload. Great lyrics in a John Cooper Clarke vein, and a tight band behind them. Funny & thought provoking.
You might like to try the guitarist brother from the band Rich Robinson.
Particularly the album Woodstock Sessions and the track ‘I have a feeling’
Thanks Andy I’ll give that a listen later👍🏼
