Don’t usually comment on up and coming releases but this is an excellent set from Toronzo Cannon. Due out I believe the 7th June. From the funky opener right the way through to the last rocking blues track Shut Up & Play which has echoes of Gary Clark Jr in it.
A great album - was a constant companion on compact cassette in my car.
Pity there is a great live album there and a great studio album. Always felt that it was a bit rum to put to halves together and not achieve a whole.
Needed something a bit more uplifting and Mrs Q came home so felt like a bit of Mr Lucky
Mind you, it’s nearly finished now so going to have to find something else for the last one before going to cook…
