Some blue eyed soul and R ‘n’ B from Teddy, on his debut album.
Similar in style to Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, which is not, in itself, a bad thing at all.
If you go to Teddys Bandcamp page you can download this album with 4 extra tracks. Its called Pt1.5.
For $6!
Elton John - Regimental Sgt. Zippo
Despite the reference books stating that Elton’s first album was Empty Sky in 1969 - it now appears he recorded this album in 1967/1968.
It is of it’s time and shows promise from the songwriting partnership with Bernie Taupin.
Interesting the CD insert lists the bass player as Dee Murray which surprised me. Turns out it was actually Tony Murray from The Troggs.
CD with Mono and Stereo mixes was £5.99 on offer at HMV in Hastings.
Feels like ages since I’ve had a proper groove!
Luckily Fred Wesley and the Horny Horns are sorting that out…
Speakers Corner, don’t you know.
Wasn’t he all over those Top Of The Pops albums my ma & pa used to buy me when I got my first record player (a Murphy version of a Dansette).
