The Crusaders Live in Japan / 1993 GRP / France CD / GRP97462
After my spin of Street Life yesterday, I thought I would give this a play today and it’s really blown me away with the realistic sound of a live concert. Guest guitarist Roland Bautista adds to the atmosphere with some fine solos (he played with Earth Wind & Fire at different times) and the recording features a lively and engaging performance by the band.
Sean Khan presents The Modern Jazz And Folk Ensemble. Jazz takes on tracks from the late sixties/early seventies folk revival. Features Jacqui McShee on a couple of tracks.
Sunday morning with a favourite: Charles-Valentin Alkan. I borrowed this out of the local library when I was a teen, and furiously saved up to buy my own copy.

I was in St Louis for several months in 1989-90 when this was being played on all the rock radio stations. Three tracks in particular, the title track, The Last Worthless Evening and New York Minute. The whole album is equally addictive.
