Jackson Browne - 1972 - Jackson Browne (Saturate Before Using) - Label - Asylum - OG Vinyl ( USA press )

This is the debut album from JB. Two singles were released from the album Doctor My Eyes & Rock Me on the Water. The title confusion is because the words saturate before using appear on the album cover which was designed to look like a water bag that requires saturation in water before use.

Playing this album as it feels a little like California in Sheffield today :sunglasses:

Another wonderful find for me a punchy lady from Kentucky.

Lovely songwriting and production.

Sheltering from the heat with some afternoon whimsy with Tot Taylor Frisbee - kind of 10cc meets Kevin Ayers. Slight but enjoyable, top track American Baby - slinky epiano vamp “American Baby your teeth are white, American Baby your face is tight”.

Many many years ago the BBC World Service had a weekly music requests show (back in the days when requests were by post!).

Much to my surprise they actually played my request (“from a listener in Konstanz, West Germany”)…

Probably the only time this track was ever played on British radio
