Music is such a great memory jogger, I can remember going into Leeds HMV to buy the Zenyatta album and then rushing back home to play it before my dad got back, cos he couldn’t stand em!!

My copy of Steve McQueen was bought locally in a long closed record shop, they were happy times.

Likewise you too Steve
2 classic Rush albums you posted
I have only seen them once as a 17 year old at Brighton Centre on The Exit Stage Left tour in 1982
I remember they came on with 2112 and superb sound and lightshow.
Xanandu was incredible Geddys synth work..Neils percussion and Alex’s superb guitar riff kicking in
A great gig and memory

clip from youtube with Anna Lapwood on organ, who is associated with the Royal Albert Hall. She really gives that song another dimension

Buckingham Nicks.
I’ve been buying a lot of “new” CDs this year but noticed they’re all from the distant past.
This is from 1973 and sounding very good. Cd rip to the Core.

I never knew he was born in Palo Alto! Grace Slick, now Buckingham, and of course The Donnas …

Buckingham still does not get enough credit for the sound of Rumours. He should have had producer credit.

From one John (McLaughlin) to another. The suite, Koyunbaba, is just gorgeous. It’s impossible for mere mortals to play too.

I’ve had a 1st listen, but it wasn’t a “proper” listen.
I thought there was some good songs, with catchy tunes and significantly more joy than the last few albums.
I’ll reserve my full opinion for now…

Geese. Getting killed. Qobuz
Not since the debut of Alabama 3 has an album had such an unsettling effect on me. Underlying menace and anger. Yet I immediately want to play it again. Nice photography for album cover that took a while to notice the gun pointing at me.
