The Average White Band in concert in 74. Not the Rainbow gig that came out as part of RSD releases last year. Officially recorded.
Oh! How happy we once we’re!
On headphones:
Quicksilver Messenger Service
Maiden Of The Cancer Moon -
1968 Live!
Psycho Records 1983
(Fillmore East disc one
Pacific Radio Broadcast disc two)
Not the best songs and not the best voice, but still lovely for a Sunday evening IMHO.
Arthur Russell: Calling out of Context.
This album, like all of his catalogue, is hard to place at the time it was recorded in the 1980’s. I’ve had this record since its release in 2004 and probably haven’t listened to it in a decade or so and I’m glad I dug it out of the collection. Something I didn’t know about him until today is that he was in discussions with the Talking Heads about becoming a member in 1976 who were a trio at the time!
Agree. And it’s a DMM ![]()
Know there was a lot of discussion about the SQ of Nick Caves New God, while it’s not the best I’ve always enjoyed it. Oddly for a Nick Cave album I find it rather uplifting. However the volume was so loud on my hi res copy I was scrambling for the remotes or phone.
Paper Wings - Listen to the World Spin. Lovely Americana/folk duo. Perfect start to the day, with coffee & puzzles. Hat tip to @ewemon for posting.
My aim is to please
MoFi version of my favourite Santana album. The masters of percussion and the stereo separation of different drums.
Stunning. Just stunning.
Santana: Caravanserai
On vinyl: Tori Amos - Under The Pink. Quite a while since I last listened to this - forgot how good it is.
