Chris Rea - The Blue Cafe
Frou Frou – Details
CD | 2002
Indie pop. Remember getting this for “Let Go”, but enjoy the whole album.
Just back from lunch with friends we shared a house with when this came out. Never off the turntable then it’s been my number one album through all life and musical taste changes ever since. As the man himself sings “time is a jet plane, it moves too fast”.
Yep, can hear that now! Sounds like a Labrador to me ![]()
Now Playing…
Yuval Cohen Quartet - Winter Poems
Yuval Cohen (Soprano Saxophone, Melodica), Tom Oren (Piano), Alon Near (Double Bass) and Alon Benjamini (Drums).
Streaming on Qobuz (88.2/24)… returning home after coffee with friends and now taking out this new release, February 14th, for the first time from Yuval and along with his talented quartet the opening track is sounding mighty fine! Looking forward to the rest of the album…
An all time great!
Now Playing…
Anat Cohen Quartinho - Bloom
Anat Cohen (Clarinet), Vitor Goncalves (Piano, Accordion), Tal Mashiach (Double Bass, Guitar) and James Shipp (Vibraphone, Marimba, Percussion).
Streaming on Qobuz (48/24)… continuing on this morning with Yuval’s sister Anat and her September 28th, 2024 album release and she and the band are sounding sublime! …and the trumpeter Avishai Cohen his her other brother, a very musical and talented family. I have been fortunate to see Anat perform in Seattle on a few occasiong and Avishai once. Life is Sweet!
Toni Childs “Union”. Her debut album, recorded in 1988 and IMHO her best effort, not that the others were bad but “Union” is so fresh, alive and beautifully recorded. Sounds good on digital but outstanding on vinyl.
Love it ![]()
